German-Film-Critics-Award nominated Maciej Sledziecki is a Polish-German composer, guitarist, and music-producer whose works include experimental, contemporary and jazz music.
His work for Film and Television includes „The Barber And The Bomb“ about the right wing extremist terrorist „National Socialist Underground“, „The Invention of Love“, Grimme-Prize winner „Losers and Winners“ and Swiss Academy Award contribution for best foreign picture – Samir´s epic 3-D documentary „Iraqi Odyssey“. He has composed music for ARD, WDR as well as music for theatre.
With his critically acclaimed ensemble gamut inc he creates new music-theatre pieces, developes music-robots, and curates international festivals as well as a wide range of artistic projects like AVANT AVANTGARDE or WIR SIND DIE ROBOTER or the concert-series for computer-controlled organs AGGREGATE.
Maciej has learned guitar and produced music with a 4-track tape-machine before studying jazz guitar at Prins Claus Conservatoire in the Netherlands and composition at Cologne University of Music. With a broad interest in music-technology he learned programming in C++ and uses algorithmic composition-tools like SuperCollider.
He has performed at Acht Brücken Festival Köln, Jauna Muzica Vilnius, SWR Festival Attacca, New Music Festival Gdansk, Numusic Festival Stavanger, Audio Art Festival Krakow, Berghain Berlin, CTM Festival, HKW Technosphärenklänge.
He was nominated for German Film Critics Prize „Best Film Score 2018“
He lives in Cologne and Berlin.
